Dr. Rukmini (Vinaya) Rednam, known by her patients as the Confidence Doc®, is an esteemed board-certified plastic surgeon serving the communities of Houston and The Woodlands, TX. Her academic journey began with her acceptance into the prestigious Conley Scholars Program at the University of Missouri-Columbia, a baccalaureate-medical program that seamlessly integrated undergraduate and medical education through a competitive selection process.
Dr. Rednam achieved her undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, with Cum Laude honors from the Honors College. She then embarked on her medical studies at the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine, where she earned her Doctorate of Medicine. Excelling academically, Dr. Rednam graduated in the top 25% of her class and secured a spot in the highly sought-after six-year integrated plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at the University of Kentucky. Mentored by Dr. Henry C. Vasconez, she was honored with the “Resident Teaching Award” and engaged in numerous research endeavors.
Credentials
Following her residency, Dr. Rednam pursued further specialization in Aesthetic Surgery with a one-year Fellowship at the University of Florida. This period was instrumental in honing her skills in cosmetic and body contouring surgeries.
Dr. Rednam’s practice encompasses a broad spectrum of Plastic Surgery, with particular expertise in cosmetic surgery of the breast, body, and face, including specialized cosmetic treatments for skin of color. She is deeply committed to breast reconstruction and assisting patients in body transformation post-weight loss. She is deeply committed to supporting her patients as they reclaim their self-esteem through breast reconstruction, post-weight loss body contouring, and embracing their true selves through body-affirming surgery.
Outside the operating room, Dr. Rednam cherishes moments with her husband Ethan, their daughters Zahra and Kiran, and their wider circle of family and friends. Her personal interests include CrossFit, exploring new destinations, and enjoying quality time with her cat Billie.
