Liposuction

Liposuction

One of the most popular cosmetic procedures, Liposuction, is a technique used to contour and sculpt the body by suctioning excess and unwanted fat from target areas. Performed alone, or in conjunction with other procedures, it can be used during a facelift to eliminate a double chin, or on almost any part of the body to reduce fat content, including the arms, back, stomach, breasts, flanks, hips, thighs, knees, and calves.

Liposuction can offer patients a considerable improvement to their appearance, especially for those who struggle to get rid of stubborn or isolated deposits of fat. Dr. Rednam uses her eye for detail and artistic hand to contour her patients’ bodies, providing them with the aesthetic results they desire.

Procedure

Liposuction offers patients immediate results with a quick recovery time. To ensure safety, liposuction is limited to a safe volume for every patient, ensuring only the appropriate amount of fat is removed in order to minimize complications and risks. Additionally, the procedure is performed at a AAAASF (American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities)-accredited facility, ensuring an excellent environment and a comfortable procedure for patients.

This procedure is performed under general anesthesia or IV sedation. During the procedure, Dr. Rednam makes very small incisions on the treatment site. She inserts a small tube called a cannula through the incisions, and aspirates the excess fat, safely suctioning it from the body.

The most commonly treated areas include:

    • Face
    • Neck
    • Arms
    • Breasts
    • Back
    • Abdomen
    • Flanks (love handles)
    •  Hips
    • Inner and outer thighs
    • Knee
    • Calves

Recovery

Results from liposuction are both immediate and progressive. While most patients see good results right away, some may have to wait for the swelling to recede in order to see the maximum effects of the surgery. The results of liposuction are long lasting, and patients can enjoy them for many years to come, as long as they avoid gaining significant amounts of weight.

Typically, liposuction only requires a downtime of a couple of days. Afterwards many patients return to their daily activities without problem
